Sub Domains

The subdomain is a piece of required information when you create an account and it is part of your podcast web page URL, for example, https://yoursubdomain.churchpodcast.rocks. It is also used as part of your podcast feed URL. You can change your subdomain later, but it will affect your podcast site URL and podcast feed, so consider setting up a subdomain that you will likely want to keep. Please reach out to support@churchpodcast.rocks if you’d like to change your subdomain."

To update or add your credit card on please follow the below steps.

  • On the top right hand corner of you account, click on your initials.
  • From the dropdown menu option click on Billing
  • Under "Payment Details", if no card exists fill in new card information and click "Update", if there is an existing card click on the edit button, update your card information and click "Update".

To cancel your account please follow the below steps.

  • On the top right hand corner of you account, click on your initials.
  • From the dropdown menu option click on Billing
  • On the right hand corner of you account name, click on the "More Options " menu button and then click on "Cancel Account". Please make sure you read and understand the outcome of canceling your account. If you still want to proceed click on "Close Account".

Apple Podcast Publishing

To get a podcast on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), please follow these simple steps:

  • Publish at least one episode with an Apple Podcasts (iTunes) supported file format.
  • Set your Podcast title, description, category and logo. The logo image must meet the Apple’s iTunes specifications or requirements (link can be found below).
  • Add you Podcast to Apple's Podcasts Connect. (link can be found below).

While excellent episode content should always be the focus of your show, your podcast cover art is the first thing new listeners will see in Apple Podcasts or on social media. Potential listeners should be able to figure out what your show is about by glancing at your artwork. Read more about Apple’s Podcast Requirements

Go to Podcasts Connect (https://podcastsconnect.apple.com), Apple's podcast management area. Login with your Apple ID, if you don’t have one, you need to create one at first. You can view and manage all the podcasts you've submitted there. Click on the "+" button the submit a new podcast feed. Validate and submit. You can check the status of your iTunes submission in Podcasts Connect.

To get a podcast on Spotify, please follow these simple steps:

  • Publish at least one episode. Your podcast episodes must be in MP3 format. Currently, Spotify does not support video or mixed media podcast feed.
  • Set your Podcast title, description, category and logo. The logo image must meet the Spotify’s specifications or requirements (link can be found below).
  • Add you Podcast to Spotify. (link can be found below).

Go to Spotify for Podcasters (https://podcasters.spotify.com/home), Spotify's podcast management area. Login with your spotify details, if you don’t have one, you need to create a Spotify account. You can view and manage all the podcasts you've submitted there. On the left hand menu click on "Add or claim your podcast" button the submit a new podcast feed, follow verification steps and then submit.

You can think of your RSS feed as an address for your podcast! This is where all your data is kept and where your podcast lives. This page is not usually meant for your listeners to access your podcast, instead, directories use your RSS feed to access all of the content for your podcast and populate your listings! Every Church Podcast Podcast comes with its own unique RSS feed that will hold the content for your podcast. You may need your RSS feed when submitting to directories or working with sponsors!

  • On the left hand navigation menu of you account, head to your Podcasts section click on "All".
  • Search and select the Podcast you want, the RSS URL is located underneath the Podcast Title.

Tips

So you know what your podcast is about, you have started recording your episodes and you are ready to upload your episode to Church Podcast! Church Podcast makes it easy to add a new episode from scratch. Please follow the below steps to get a new episode live on Church Podcast.

  • On the left hand navigation menu of you account, head to your Episodes section click on "Create".
  • Enter a title and select an Author. A default Author has been created for you but you can always create a new one by clicking on "Create" under the Authors section of the left hand navigation menu.
  • Fill in all required information and click "Create", you can now add more details (descriptions, categories, series and files) about your episode.

For an episode to be available on a podcast it must contain the Podcast file type. E.g. For an episode to be available on a "video" podcast it must contain a video file. You can upload nearly any file type to Church Podcast, but you’ll have the best results with a high-quality MP3 or MP4 files. Spending a bit of time to get the best sounding recording will drastically improve the final audio/video file. Make sure you check descriptions for any spelling errors before publishing. You can select a future publish date to make you Episode available at a later date.

  • On the left hand navigation menu of you account, head to your Episodes section click on "All".
  • Search and select the Episode you want to publish. Under "Upcoming Schedules" click on "Add", select the Podcast, when should the episode be added, add notifications options (to enable social media notifications you must connect your account to your social media page) and click "Save".

Podcasts are a collection of audio/video series that usually focus on a certain subject or topic. For the uninitiated, you can easily subscribe to your favorite podcast show on your smartphone to hear podcast episodes on various topics.

  • On the left hand navigation menu of you account, head to your Podcasts section click on "Create".
  • Fill in all required information and click "Create". Don't stress over these details to much as you can always change or add more info in the future, so while you’ll want to take some consideration while doing this, it doesn’t have to be perfect.
  • These changes will be published to your RSS feed immediately. Your podcast listings will update based on these changes and it might take up to 24 hours for you to see your updated change.

API Guide

Our API is intended for 3rd parties wishing to integrate their applications with our podcast hosting service. This API and has been designed around RESTful concepts with JSON for serialization. Full documentation is available on SwaggerHub. Please note that currently we only support users issuing access tokens to themselves (Personal Access Token).

Please refer to the "API Terms of Use" in our Terms Of Service. When you access or use the Church Podcast API you show that you agree to this Terms Of Service.

To create a Personal Access token please follow these steps. On the top right hand corner of you account, click on your initials. From the dropdown menu option click on API and then click on the "Create New Token" button.
